Sara Cox (Formerly Austin): I am registered technologist in radiography and bone densitometry, and I perform the DEXA scans and x-rays for Guilford Medical Associates. Several years ago I moved back to Greensboro to pursue an education in healthcare, more specifically in medical imaging, and was accepted into the hospital-based Radiography Program at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. During the two years of the program I worked very hard both academically and clinically, and was awarded a scholarship through Guilford Medical & Dental Managers. This scholarship helped me out immensely by reimbursing me for all of my out-of-pocket expenses associated with my education.
After graduation I continued my relationship with Moses Cone as a radiography technologist, where I was able to gain valuable expertise in both trauma imaging and fluoroscopy. Just about a year and a half ago, I began a new professional journey here with Guilford Medical Associates performing bone densitometries, which lead me to getting registered in BD. I am so thankful for the opportunities that Guilford Medical has given me, and in many ways I feel like I’ve found my home away from home. We really do work for one of the best practices in the Piedmont (dare I say the entire state)!
